On Mission to
Spread the Gospel

We are the Hancocks - Kenny, Jocelyn, Keira, and Layla.  God has placed a call on our lives for missionary aviation and to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to people in far reaches of the globe where roads do not exist.  Our journey in missionary aviation began at the College of Missionary Aviation (CMA) in Keystone Heights, Florida where I (Kenny) earned a bachelor's degree in Missionary Science with a Concentration in Aviation.  While at the college I also earned several licenses and endorsements in aviation such as a Private Pilots license, Instrument rating, commercial rating, tail wheel endorsement, high-performance endorsement, Complex aircraft endorsement, and CFI (Certified Flight Instructor).  After my time at the CMA, I have since gained additional aviation training including my Seaplane rating, Multi-Engine aircraft License, CFII (Certified Flight Instrument Instructor), and MEI (Multi-Engine Instructor).

In the latter part of 2019, we had the privilege to meet Peter Bastke and Mickey Duyck from MARC (Mission Aviation Repair Center) in Soldotna, Alaska, in which they invited us to visit MARC to experience how that mission operated.  So, in January 2020, Jocelyn and I visited their organization and felt our family would like to serve with them.  We fell in love with the mission and vision MARC has for Alaska's people.  At the request of Peter Bastke to gain additional training after college, we moved the family to Worthington, Minnesota to serve with Proclaim Aviation Ministries for at least 30 months and gain the training needed to receive my A&P Mechanic License (Airframe and Powerplant).

We have since completed all the necessary training required to serve with MARC and are incredibly excited about the opportunity that God has placed before us as we serve the people of Alaska.

Our Heart

Our family has been in full-time ministry for more than a decade. We started our ministry career at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Crestview, FL where Kenny served as the Children's Minister for over 9 years.  In 2018 God called us to the mission field. We are looking forward to meeting the needs of the local people and sharing the love of Jesus Christ with others. As a missionary pilot, my responsibilities will be to provide aid to those who have no access by way of roads.  This could be anything from flying in supplies such as food and medicine, giving transportation to Bible translators in and out of remote villages, or even being medical transport for the sick and injured. My training has also prepared me to be a mechanic for the aircraft used in the mission field.

We love community and we love the local church. We love being a part of a body of believers who also love Jesus. Without the local church, missionaries cannot do what God has called us to do, "Go and tell all nations and make disciples."  We cannot imagine a life without a biblical community and strive to create it where we can.

What's Next

We knew from the beginning of this journey, that wherever God had planned for us to be, he would have us use our many years of children's ministry experience to help the local church reach families and help them grow in a relationship with Jesus and captivate heart for children to maybe become future missionary pilots.  We are so thankful for the years of experience God has given us with children because every summer, MARC flights transport approximately 350 native Alaskan youth to several Christian camps around the state. For many children, this will be the first time they are exposed to the Gospel of Christ. In the villages that have an existing church, attending camp may be the only Christian youth event they can experience all year.  We are so excited to start the next chapter of this journey and the kids we will be able to impact for the Kingdom each summer.

We Need You

We are going to need you and we need your prayers above all else.  Pray that the people we are going to reach and serve are open to the Gospel.  Pray that God provides for our Family through all that we are doing.

Living in Alaska has its challenges.  One of the challenging parts is the cost of living.  Alaska imports almost everything into the state to provide for the people living there.  In turn, this makes the cost of living to increase about 25% to 35% higher than in the lower 48 states.  MARC currently requires a family of 4, such as ours, to raise a steady minimum of $7,500 a month before we can officially move to Alaska to serve.  As of now, we have raised about 85% of that need.  We need your help to make this goal a reality.  Whether that is by partnering with us financially or by sharing our story and contacts with those you may know who would be willing to partner with us in the Great Commission.

In The Field

Missionaries play a vital role in spreading the Gospel of Jesus to the whole world. Without missionary pilots, the people in indigenous parts of the world would not have access to hear the good news of Jesus.  Missionaries all across the world rely on the local church for support, both in prayer and financially.  Without support from the local church and the body of Christ, missionaries could not bring the Gospel to the world.

Please Pray

As we are on this journey, we ask you to pray without ceasing for the following:

  • God’s direction and guidance

  • God’s provision for our family

  • The people will be serving in Alaska

  • MARC in Alaska

  • Safety in all Flight Operations

OUR MISSION

To expand the reach of the Gospel in Alaska by:

  • Flying People & Supplies Where There Are No Roads

Using a variety of aircraft, we provide cost-shared passenger & cargo transportation to pastors and their families, missionaries, churches, para-church organizations, Bible camps, and short-term work groups conducting ministry activity in Alaska, Far Eastern Russia, and Northern Canada.

Aviation is necessary: even though the state is larger than Texas, California, and Montana combined, the city of Seattle has more roads than the entire state of Alaska. With more than three million lakes and one hundred thousand glaciers (half of the world’s total), the terrain of Alaska is very unforgiving & virtually inaccessible without the use of aircraft.

Through a unique partnership with Samaritan’s Purse, our combined modernized fleet enables us to tailor flight services for the varied needs of our mission partners across Alaska. This consolidated capability allows us to operate safely and efficiently for their benefit despite the remote arctic conditions. In addition to supporting ongoing youth development and community improvements, our combined mission efforts enable rapid response to provide relief aid & services during emergency situations across Alaska.
